Welcome to the St. Albert Chess Club!

After many hours of work to get here, finally, our doors have opened this Fall. Our goal is to be the prime spot for chess players of all skills and backgrounds, and we appreciate your patience as we work through any kinks of being a new chess club. With your support, we will grow into something awesome.

To start, we will be open for play every Tuesday and Wednesday evening, some Friday evenings, and every Saturday afternoon for various activities. Be sure to check our calendar for exact details. Programming may evolve as we hear from members, but there will be a consistent variety of formats for players to try – fast and slow, structured and free-flowing.

Do note that for September, all of our days are free to attend as we ease into our structures. Memberships/payments will be required as of October 6th, but you can sign up early here if you want to show us your extra enthusiasm.

Please remember that you will be part of each other’s experience, so it is expected that everyone contributes to a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. If you have any feedback on things you would like to see from us, or general questions or comments, I invite you to fill out our contact form.

Enjoy the chess!
